Your Feedback Needed Regarding Baseball and Softball Fields
Launch the media gallery 1 playerGeary Public Schools is asking for community feedback regarding the future of our baseball and softball fields.
The district is currently considering whether to invest district funds into renovating the city-owned fields through a proposed 50-year lease or install fields on other school-owned property. (It's worth noting that the dollars that would be used for this type of project are separate from those used for the construction of the new school.)
Because either option would involve tax dollars, we want to hear from the community before moving forward. Our goal is to make a responsible decision and be good stewards of money entrusted to the district. Would the community like the district to try to renovate the city's fields, or would the community like the school to own their own fields?
A copy of the proposed lease is included with this post so community members can review the agreement before completing the survey.
