Bison Trip Turpin in First Playoff Game
Next Game at Davenport for 2nd Round of Playoffs
The Bison caged the Turpin Cardinals by a score of 70-52 in the first playoff game. The team is next planning to take a bite out of the 11-0 Davenport Bulldogs Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport. Head coach Steven Wilson named the Bison offense and defense as players of the week for their first round playoff win.
Coach Wilson said, "The offense worked together well all night and answered the call when they needed to score each time the visitors were able to produce a touchdown. With over 600 yards of offense on the night, they were pretty much doing whatever they wanted to offensively."
Wilson added, "The Bison defense was able to hold off a determined team from Turpin all night long. Turpin never broke or gave up even after the Bison got three touchdowns ahead. The defense made a couple of big stops to hold the opponents on downs--once inside their own 5 yard line. Their pursuit to the ball definitely kept the Cardinals caged in all night long."
