New Teacher Feature
Kim Doane, Title 1 Math
Kim Doane is our new Elementary Title 1 math teacher. She grew up in Lookeba and graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School where she was an accomplished student in academics and athletics. While in hgh school she was Student Council President, FHA President, L-S Basketball Miss Congeniality, Most Athletic, High School basketball team captain, and Junior High Girls' assistant coach. She was on the Superintendent's Honor Roll and named to the National Honor Society. She was also named All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State in Oklahoma girl's basketball, where she was ranked third overall in the state in three-pointers and eighth in the state in free throws. (She actually made 104 free throws in a row during practice one time!).
Ms. Doane graduated with honors from SWOSU and completed her certification in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, 7th-8th grade Language Arts, and 6th grade Math. She taught for one year at Hydro-Eakley, and then eleven years at Lookeba-Sickles before coming to Geary as the Title 1 Math teacher this school year.
She is married to Jeff Doane, who owns Doane Auto Repair in Hinton. She has one son, Breyden, who is a junior at Lookeba-Sickles. Her family likes to travel, and they have been to Ireland, England, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Canada (Halifax and Nova Scotia), Mexico (Cancun and Cozumel) as well as many states within the U.S..
