October Monthly Update

Launch the media gallery 1 playerOur October Geary Public Schools update is attached, and there are several good things happening across the district.
We especially want our community to know where things currently stand with the baseball and softball fields. We have submitted a revised lease proposal to the City of Geary that protects the WPA portions of those facilities so improvements would not jeopardize their historical significance or value. The proposal would also allow the school district to make appropriate improvements without having to return to the City for permission every time something needs to be done.
As of yet, we have not received a response from the City. We believe October 15 is a reasonable deadline for a response so we can keep this process moving. We want to work with the City, protect the history that is important to Geary, and move forward with improvements that will benefit our students for years to come.
We are also recognizing two more outstanding students, the new mural at the football field is complete, and construction on our new school continues to move forward.
