Rising up from the Ashes
On March 23, 2025, a devastating fire swept through the main high school building, destroying the old gymnasium, the cafeteria, and classrooms. It's been a long journey, but construction is set to begin on a new Pre-K through 12th grade all inclusive campus. On Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 8:30 a.m., we will put shovels in the ground at 300 S. Blaine and officially begin construction on the new home of Geary Public Schools. After the fire, there were plenty of moments when this day felt a long way off, but our community kept moving forward. Now we are preparing to build a new inclusive campus that will bring our students and staff together in one place and become something our community can be proud of for generations. This groundbreaking represents the people who stood beside our school, the community that believed in what could come next, and the students who will walk through those doors for years to come. We would love to have our families, alumni, community members, and friends of Geary Public Schools join us in this ground-breaking ceremony as we celebrate the beginning of this next chapter.
