Students Practice Leadership Skills at FCCLA Meeting
Six GHS students recently attended a leadership meeting of FCCLA (Family, Career and Consumer Science) in Enid. During the meeting, they learned the importance of working towards a common goal as a group and growing their leadership skills. FCCLA along with Oklahoma Challenge worked together to bring awareness to the dangers of texting, drinking, and even applying make-up while operating a vehicle. Oklahoma Highway Patrol provided drinking while driving simulations, and area trucking companies came to offer their knowledge and trucks to better explain the blind spots these large vehicles have while on the road. This was a great educational event for these young leaders and soon-to-be drivers of Geary.
