Junior High Crushes Corn Bible Academy

The Junior High Bison had a decisive 32-16 win over Corn Bible Academy Monday. Quarterback and 8th grader Marc Perez gave the team a huge spark of momentum with an 80 yard touchdown run on Geary's first drive of the game. After a 4th down stop, 8th grade Running Back Kale Smith scored on a 50 yard scamper to make the lead 14-0 af the end of the first quarter. In the 2nd quarter the defense continued to play well, only allowing two first downs by the Crusaders. On offense in the second quarter, Kale Smith broke loose for another long touchdown run of 40 yards. Late in the second quarter, 7th grade Fullback Kaleb Duran punched in a touchdown run from 3 yards out on a 4th down play. Finishing up the scoring for the Bison was Freshman Raul Espinoza with a 55 yard touchdown run. The team as a whole played very well with very few mistakes. Next Monday the Junior High will face the Seiling Wildcats at Seiling with games starting a 5:30 p.m. for the Elementary and 6:30 p.m. for the Junior High. On Monday, the Elementary team got a lot of good reps and competition in their 2nd intersquad scrimmage of the year. The game ended in a 14-6 victory for the red team. Scoring touchdowns in that game were Sergio Pineda and Kyle Harrall. Every player was able to get good experience in the scrimmage as they prepare for next week's game at Seiling.
