Shawnee and Wheeler Named Players of the Week
by Coach Steve Wilson
Offensive Player of the Week, Ross Shawnee, had his first 200-yeard rushing game for the first time this year on 10 carries. He is averaging 17 yards a carry on the season and looks to provide a big impact in the playoffs. He works hard on and off the field. He keeps improving each day. He was asked by Coach Kennedy if he was going to rush for 200 yards before the Allen game. Ross just nodded his head yes and went out and did it.
Our Defensive Player of the Week, Josh Wheeler, is new to the Bison roster this year. He moved to Geary from the city area over the summer. He has been getting acclimated to the system and seeing more playing time over the past two weeks. He has had 10 tackles playing linebacker over the past two games and is working hard each day. It is good to see him getting on the field of play for us now. When asked how he feels to be playing, Josh said, "I'm proud to be a Bison and getting to hang out with my brothers on and off the field."
