GHS art students and their teacher, Rachel Adams, were featured on a segment of KFOR-TV's "Is this a Great State" program. Art students were interviewed by reporter Galen Culver while they worked at a professional art studio, Artspace at Untitled, in Oklahoma City. Students had the opportunity to work with professional artists while learning the art of printmaking. Featured on the program were: Cailyn Brown, Kristian Castleberry, Alex Christmas, Kylah Laiwah, Connar Pomaville, Reyna Ponce, Kaylee Scanlan and Alyssa Sweezy.
During their two-day stay in Oklahoma City, they met with professional artists and officials with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, including Dwight Pickering, Director of American Indian Education, and Arts Director Glen Henry, and sat in on a panel discussion with five artists. Also accompanying the students was GHS English teacher, Michele Charles, who taught a session on making art with stamping. The students broadened their culinary experiences by dining at East Indian and Mediterranean restaurants, and even tried sushi at a Japanese restaurant. They also visited art galleries in downtown Oklahoma City's historic Film Row.
