Veterans and Active Duty Military Honored at Assembly
Elementary music students, the MS-HS band, and Student Council members performed for veterans attending the annual Veterans' Day assembly Tuesday. A highlight of the program was the performing of the Armed Services Medley. Shown in the video is the combined 5th and 6th grade classes singing the official anthems for each branch of the military, accompanied by the High School band. Veterans were asked to stand when their branch's number was sung. The program also included the veterans' slide show which had photographs of veterans and active duty military from the community. Participating in the ceremonial folding of the flag were Brantley Roberson, Parker McSperrit, Abby Everly, and Rachel Garza-Chacon. Leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Oklahoma flag salute was Kirsten Coppage. Luke Posey recited "What is Veterans' Day" and the band performed The Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of the program.
