STUCO Focus Inclusiveness and Serving Others
Student Coucil members attended the three-day State Convention in Ada where the focus was inclusiveness and serving others. The students heard from three great speakers in the general sessions and then attended small group rotations where they learned more about activities they could implement at Geary High School. In the evening there were activities such as a mixer, competitive games, and a "silent" dance that allowed them to make connections with students from schools across the state. Student Council members attending were Kadance Pitts, Maggie Glasgow, Kierra Evans, Maggie Cross, Gabe Kiener, Jose Briseno, Cameron Finney, and Max Glasgow. In the top photo, STUCO members are shown playing a fast-paced game of UNO as they wait to be released to the next session. They chose to play card games as a way to connect with each other rather than spend time staring at their phone screen, according to STUCO sponsor Shana Glasgow.
